The California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE) is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1976 to promote bilingual education and quality educational experiences for all students in California.

Our school has purchased culture books that relate to the lives of our English learners and are ready to be checked out! There are many other languages available to read including Spanish, French, Farsi, Vietnamese and more.

ELD Walkthroughs
English Learner Advisory Committee
Parents are welcomed to join us for our monthly ELAC meetings on Wednesdays in Room 1 at 8:30 AM with our ELIRT, Sarah Kemen and our Community Liaison, Joselyn Guerra. The meetings take part in Spanish and English. Elected members advocate to improve Jane Addams English Learner Program. Let your voice be heard! Check out the exact meeting dates on our calendar!

District English Learner Advisory Committee
Parents are welcomed to join us for our monthly DELAC Meetings at the District Office on the Second Wednesday of the month at 9:00AM. Our DELAC Committee is composed of Parent Leaders Advocating for our School District's English Learner Program.

ELD Support Group
Tuesdays and Thursdays
7:30 - 8:10 AM
This group is offered to all Middle School ELD students for extra support with developing their academic English Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening skills.
Newcomer Support Group
Mondays and Wednesdays
3:05 - 4:05 PM
This group is offered to all Newcomers to the country in our Middle School. Mondays students will work with Ms. Heras to receive additional support with their academic English. On Wednesdays they receive additional homework support.
Parent Nights
ELPAC Parent Night
Families of ELD students are welcomed to attend this educational parent night. Their state test takes place in February and we hope to inform parents of the resources available to ensure they pass the tests. Jane Addams and Rogers Middle School team up every year ti=o provide information on the test. Parents of our ELAC Committee will be presenting in Spanish. Translation to English will be available.
This years ELPAC Parent Night has passed, please be on the look out for next years date!
